How DSL Works
A Sprint DSL modem is installed on your existing phone line. This modem transmits the data over your existing phone line, enabling voice and data to be transmitted at the same time.

This is what gives you the freedom to talk and surf simultaneously without any interruptions to your Internet connection. If you're talking on the phone while surfing, your speeds will not be affected and your voice connection will be as clear as it has always been. And because Sprint DSL is an "instant on" connection there is no waiting for a dial-up connection and no busy signals - with just a click of the mouse you're surfing the net!

To utilize your Sprint DSL connection your computer will need to have a Network Card or USB Network Adapter. The Network Card consists of a printed circuit board that is installed inside your computer. Many but not all computers sold today have a Network Card installed at the time of purchase. The USB Network Adapter plugs directly into an available USB port and in effect turns it into an external Network Card. Either device permits you to access to a Local Area Network (LAN).
